![]() Day 2 of the Kingfisher Derby began with a totally awesome sunrise and that oily smooth water that's so nice to be out on. While many anglers were busy catching lots of Coho and Halibut at Cape Edenshaw and Green Pt. the focused Chinook hunters targeted the waters off Bird 1, Parker Point, Bird 2 and Klashwun Point. For much of the day the Chinook fishing was very slow with occasional fish picked up at one point or another. While a number of twenty-somethings and a few Tyees were boated the big news was the rise of a new name on top of the leaderboard as Colin Ramsden boated a big Chinook that taped out to 49.82 pounds. As the final day of the derby opens Sunday, the weather is forecast to be as pleasant as today so everyone's looking forward to a great finale. Keep an eye on this page for the final results! |
