July 11th - The Giant Pacific Octopus is the largest octopus species in the world and we often encounter them when fishing for Halibut and Lingcod.  Although they generally feed on crabs, clams, cockles and abalone they are easily attracted to a jigging herring bait and, when pulled up to the surface, provide a glimpse at a most intriguing animal that most of us rarely see.
